Welcome to our guest house in the heart of Val Grande, in the picturesque village of Cicogna. An old house immersed in uncontaminated nature, ideal for hikers, adventure lovers and those seeking peace and authenticity. Live a unique experience among breathtaking views and the regenerating silence of the mountain!

Structure

Casa Celestina is an old house in the town center, completely renovated for tourist hospitality – maintaining the original structure and basic features but also having added new furniture and accessories.

The house is mainly used in the summer (approximately from Easter until the end of October), as there is no heating system but only fireplaces and stoves: if someone wants to experience life as it once was in the mountains, feel free to request use in the winter months.

There is a large eat-in kitchen that retains, in addition to the new induction hob, an economic wood stove and a fireplace, a dining room with a large wooden table, a bathroom with shower and washing machine, a living room and 3 bedrooms on the upper floor with a total of 11 beds.

It is suitable for hosting various types of travelers, whether they are couples, families or groups, and for the latter, if the number allows it, also for exclusive use by occupying the entire house.

Hospitality

Casa Celestina allows guests to experience life in the mountains in a house with an ancient and lived-in feel, where private and common spaces intersect and become complementary. It gives our guests thye opportunity to live together and share spaces and moments of the day.

Eco-commitment! A particular attention we care about is to reduce the impact we have on nature and on the place that hosts us as much as possible: this is reflected in the attention to the consumption of water (an increasingly precious resource in places like Cicogna), of electricity usage and of the products we use for cleaning (universal detergents for washable surfaces, washing machine, dishes, hand soap), which in addition to being organic (and therefore not containing chemical agents) are on tap, producing significantly less plastic waste, using fewer and fewer disposable containers.

Services

Among the services that Casa Celestina offers, the most appreciated are certainly the use of a fully equipped kitchen (which in addition to a refrigerator and cupboards for everyone’s food, provides a microwave oven, toaster, kettle, blender, as well as pots and pans and dishes) and a pantry of essential food products (very useful since in Cicogna there are no grocery stores) and from which guests that did not bring their own food (or in any case everyone) can draw and stock up in a climate of maximum trust and availability.

Under the kitchen balcony, facing the courtyard, there is also a large barbecue for grilling; in the bathroom there is a washing machine, as well as a hairdryer.

Rooms

There are 3 bedrooms on the upper floor; the first overlooks the internal staircase and has a double bed and a single bed, the second and third bedrooms overlook an external balcony, one of which has 2 bunk beds and the second 1 double bed (divisible into 2 singles) and a bunk bed.

The beds are made up with sheets, pillowcases and duvet and towels are provided.

Upon request it is possible to have a cot with sides for children and a changing table.

Prices

Children up to 12 years 14€. Free up to 3 years.

Pets are allowed (please advise when booking) with a supplement of 3€ per day.

Rules and regulations

In order to have a good experience of community life, and therefore with good manners and respect for others and the place, we ask our guests to:

maintain a behavior suitable to guarantee maximum tranquility and respect for the needs of each person both in the structure and in the neighborhood
maintain order and cleanliness, care of the structure and the equipment in use
use water and electricity sparingly and carefully with motivation to reduce consumption as much as possible
to use the washing machine please ask the staff
inside the structure, especially on the upper floors, please use slippers and not shoes or boots
the use of stoves is prohibited unless in the presence of the staff
upon arrival show an identification document
pay the amount or verify that payment has been made if paid in advance
after 11 pm and until 6 am the lights must be turned off and maximum silence must be observed; do not use the kitchen, showers or washing machine
upon departure, put the sheets and towels delivered upon arrival in the basket in the bathroom
for the use of the kitchen, see the dedicated regulations.

It is strictly forbidden to:

change the arrangement of the furniture, accessories and equipment in use without the authorization of the staff
smoke inside the structure or on the balconies
introduce animals and/or external guests unless agreed with the staff

Regulations for the use of the kitchen and pantry:

use household appliances, equipment, accessories, and dishes with care
clean the kitchen and dining room carefully after each use
be careful to use water and electricity sparingly
agree with other guests on the times of use of the kitchen or share its use for the preparation of shared meals
store your own food in the cupboard and in the shared/common fridge
if you leave food for the next guests upon departure, store the packaged food on the shared shelf in the kitchen and the fridge food in the shared/common fridge; if the latter is already open or cooked, apply a label with the contents and the opening date so that it can be used correctly and safely by others
collaborate with the staff and other guests by keeping the kitchen and the dining room clean, the food in order and taking the waste bags to the waste bin according to the methods of separate waste collection
the food from the common pantry is made available according to a principle of maximum trust and sharing; in exchange for what you use we ask you to freely leave an offering in the offering box as a reimbursement of expenses; a contribution towards the costs of using the kitchen in terms of wear and tear on equipment, dishes, water and electricity and cleaning products is also appreciated
be careful about using multiple appliances at the same time (oven and electric hobs) which could trip the meter
